And, just like his father, will one day own this property. While the Poundbury Estate in Dorset is perhaps the most well-known development owned by The Duchy of Cornwall, the Nansledan Estate in Cornwall is situated in an area famed for its party scene.

As with many private estates, strict rules apply, including prohibitions on visible washing lines or bins and restrictions on individual satellite dish installations. The estate is located in Newquay, a Cornish town known as one of Britain's top party destinations and a popular choice for stag dos and hen parties.

The town was listed as the seventh most popular destination for stag dos in the UK in 2018, according to CornwallLive, thanks to its bustling bars and restaurants, not to mention the affordable beer prices. The land is owned by The Duchy of Cornwall, meaning Prince William now owns several properties in the town.

The project could take up to four decades to complete, and residents will have to adhere to a few key rules. These include avoiding unnecessary noise, loud arguments or door slamming. The official website states: "Development should enhance the quality of life, strengthen the bonds of community and place, and give people a sense of pride in where they live.

"Buildings should look as if they belong in the landscape, drawing on regional traditional styles, where the use of local materials and craftsmanship is vital to the aesthetic and the local economy. Nansledan embodies these timeless principles that have created enduring communities across Britain."

The Duchy of Cornwall is a private estate established by King Edward III in 1337 for his son, Prince Edward, the 'Black Prince'. A charter at the time decreed that each future Duke of Cornwall would be the eldest surviving son of the monarch and the heir to the throne.

Before ascending to the throne, King Charles was actively involved with the Duchy of Cornwall for many years, a role that has since been handed over to Prince William after he took on the title of Prince of Wales. King Charles had been preparing his eldest son for the responsibilities that come with being The Prince of Wales and managing the Duchy of Cornwall estate.

Reflecting on his future duties in a 2019 documentary, Prince William shared: "I've started to think about how I will inherit the Duchy one day and what I do with it. I think it's really important, about the family angle, I really do."

In response to his son's sentiments, an emotional remarked: "When I saw it, I couldn't believe it. I was deeply touched and moved by what he said. Frankly, it reduced me to tears."
