Fear not, because a clever cook has revealed a genius way to give those extra buns a new lease of life, ensuring they don't end up in the bin. The culinary whizz, who goes by the username fitwaffle on TikTok, has shared a mouth-watering recipe that'll have you craving French toast with a twist.

Speaking candidly in her latest video, the foodie said: "If you've ever got any leftover hotdog buns, you've got to make this French toast. Just slice your hotdog buns into quarters so they look like mini slices of bread. So cute. Then crack two eggs into a bowl, and whisk with milk (80ml) and vanilla (one teaspoon)."

Following this step, she instructs to dip the bun quarters in the egg-milk-vanilla mixture, taking care to let any excess drip off. Then, just heat some butter in a pan and fry the adorable minis on each side until they're a beautiful golden brown.

When it comes to the finishing touch, the trick is to mix some cinnamon into sugar. Combine well before sprinkling over the toast to create an irresistibly crunchy sweet topping.
