Much-loved star suffered painful injury and almost quit reality TV series just hours in

Towie star Bobby Norris and journalist Rachel Johnson have shared their excruciating experience on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, as one revealed they almost quit the show.

The popular Channel 4 show is set to make an epic return to screens on Sunday (September 22) with a fresh batch of famous recruits. In the new series, the celebs will be training in the south islands of New Zealand.

Under the watchful eyes of Mark "Billy" Billingham, Directing Staff (DS) Jason "Foxy" Fox, Rudy Reyes and Chris Oliver, the famous faces are certainly in for a tough time - and for Bobby and Rachel, injuries and phobias almost caused them to tap out.

Talking to Christine Lampard on Friday's Lorraine, Rachel opened up on her injury. Prompting her, Christine said: "You broke a rib on day two!"

Rachel, who is the sister to the UK's former Prime Minister Boris Johnson, said: "Yes going down the dam. It was the highest dam antipodes. But Bobby you smashed it after that first day! We can't give away any spoilers.

"Bobby really doesn't like heights! And on the first day, Bobby I thought you were gonna have to leave!"

Explaining his turmoil while watching a clip of his time on the show, Towie legend Bobby said "reality started to set in" once he arrived at the location. He then knew that things would be "tough" going forward.

But although it appears Bobby and Rachel didn't self-eliminate from the overall experience, this isn't true for another famous face on the show. According to Rachel, actor and television personality, John Barrowman abruptly exited Celebrity SAS just two hours into filming.

Talking to Daily Mail, she claimed: "John left like two hours in. He did the first day and then he voluntarily withdrew in camp. When we were doing the tour of the accommodation."

In addition to this, reports also suggested that dancing sensation Louie Spence called it quits after a short 24-hour stint after he appeared to underestimate the extremities of the series. An industry insider conveyed to The Sun that the dancer was initially happy to take part in the show.

The insider said: "He seemed thrilled to be surrounded by all the hunky instructors, who all came from military backgrounds that required them to have an elite level of fitness. But he was less enamoured with the regime they had to maintain, with Louie unable to keep up with them physically and mentally."

Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins returns Sunday 22nd September at 9pm.
