Martine McCutcheon sparks health fears following shock marriage breakdown

Martine McCutcheon has worried her fans by stepping out in foul weather conditions without a coat.

The 48-year-old soap legend took to social media on Friday to share a smiling video clip of herself out and about with her young son, Rafferty - who is aged nine. The former EastEnders actress revealed that her son had been battling a high temperature and a cough - but left fans concerned that her own health could be at risk due to adverse weather conditions.

The star was in her home town on the outskirts of the UK capital which was blighted by downpours of icy rain throughout the day, grey cloud-filled skies, and weak temperatures that struggled to reach double figures. Martine explained that she was taking her son to catch up with friends, but her social media followers were worried for her wardrobe choices.

Wearing a simple, sleeveless, cream-coloured maxi dress, Martine smiled for the camera while she wandered down a street with a box of pizza in her hands. Rafferty was at her side and she explained they were off to check in on one of his friends - but revealed her son was battling illness.

Martine wrote in an accompanying caption: "Look at curly top, lighting up every time he finds the camera! I really don’t know where he gets it from!" She continued: "After a night of coughing and a horribly high temperature (Hello September) Rafferty cheered up no end, when he found out that our dear friend and her son, have moved around the corner (literally) from us! Yay! Whoop Whoop!"

She went on: "So a bit of fresh air to clear the cobwebs and some scrummy, freshly baked pizza to share with our new neighbours, seemed just the ticket! #scrummy #yummy #inmytummy

She added a string of further hashtags to the energetic post, writing: "#September #meandmylittlebubba #myfriend #adorehimsomuch #ourfriendsbecameneigjhours #whoop #timetovisit #Rafferty #lovesthecamera #workitbabyworkit #sogladhesbetter #kids #bounceback."

However, followers were quick to note her absence of warm clothing, with one writing in the comments of the post: "It’s freezing out" alongside a frozen face emoji. While another more bluntly commented: "Where the f**k is your f**king coat?"

Martine's smile-filled update comes just weeks after she announced her marriage to 40-year-old singer Jack McManus had collapsed. She revealed via social media back in August: “After much thought and consideration, Jack has decided it's best for us to separate after 18 years together and I accept his decision.

“We are both so very blessed and grateful for our beautiful, 9 year old son Rafferty, who's happiness and welfare, has always been, and will continue to be, our number 1 priority. We both of course, still cherish and look forward to being parents together to our wonderful boy for the rest of our lives."

She concluded at the time: "Many thanks in advance for your respect and support, at this difficult time... And I continue to send Jack, all the love, luck and happiness for the next chapter of his. Rafferty and I (as always,) are rooting for you! Thank you all, for the love and support, now and always...Martine.xx.”
