Jake Paul has made one major change since Mike Tyson pulled out of fight

YouTuber-turned-boxer has made a change to his fight weight after pulled out of the first contest earlier this year.

The two stars were scheduled to go head-to-head back in July, however, 'Iron Mike' after suffering an ulcer flare up. The icon was forced to stop training on his doctor's order, but has since returned to the gym and insists he will be fit to face the 27-year-old next month. In a recent interview with , Tyson revealed he is now 'ulcer-free', and has claimed . "I was doing too much bad food and stuff, and I got sick,'' he said. However, Tyson has said he's now avoiding 'processed foods' and is 'eating clean' for the clash with the young American.

The showdown between the pair will finally take place in front of up to 90,000 fans. It will be recognised as a professional outing and will take place in the heavyweight division.

Tyson hasn't fought a professional fight in nearly two decades - when he suffered a fifth-round defeat to Irishman in 2005. The 58-year-old did, however, compete in an exhibition bout with four years ago. Meanwhile, since making his debut in 2020, Paul has defeated the likes of Tyron Woodley, Anderson Silva and Nate Diaz. His only defeat in the sport of came last year.

Ahead of the original date earlier this year, Paul was walking around at 230 pounds - which is significantly heavier that what he's used to. Speaking on his podcast back in May, 'The Problem Child' said: "Normally I'm fighting at 200 and walking around at 210. It's to me that I'm weighing 230." He also hinted at the possibility of gaining up to 240 pounds during his training period for the bout.

That said, this time around, the 27-year-old has revealed his intentions to weigh a little lighter ahead of next month's heavyweight dust-up. In an interview with the , when asked about his weight, Paul revealed that he is currently weighing around 216 pounds and expects to be 220 on the day of the fight. He also admitted that . “Tyson will probably be 235", he said.

If that's the case, it potentially implies Tyson is hoping to end the fight early. During the peak of his powers, the boxing veteran became accustomed to finishing fights early doors. Paul is taking the fight very seriously as he's well aware that the 58-year-old's power could still be there.

He has watched hours of tape to study Tyson’s previous fights and believes he will try “to trap me on the ropes and then get blows off to angles on each side.” When , Paul replied: “To just box on the outside and then use my footwork to be more agile and get him chasing me and then attack him when he’s out of position. That should frustrate him.”
