The colder months are good for many things; brisk walks through the countryside, cosy fire-lit evenings or a good Sunday roast. They’re also good for booking your next beach holiday, according to one travel expert.
Richard Edwards, Managing Director of White House Glamping, says the winter period is the perfect time to start thinking about the year ahead. “As the holiday season winds down, people tend to be low on money and the demand for travel decreases, creating the perfect opportunity to lock in deals for future getaways,” he said.
“By keeping an eye on different promotions during the winter months, travellers can secure their dream holidays for next year while enjoying significant savings.” During the winter, airlines, hotels and tour operators usually drop their prices to match the drop in demand and secure early reservations.

This creates a unique window for travellers to secure vacations at discounted rates before the rush of spring and summer. A lot of travel companies also offer exclusive winter sales, early-bird discounts, and promotional deals.
“Consider saving up your funds for this time of year and dedicating your savings to a holiday instead of physical gifts,” Edwards said.
A lot of these deals come around late November, as the tradition of Black Friday has turned into a multi-day affair with Cyber Monday now being a great day to look on airline and hotel websites for promotional discounts.
The other benefit to booking your summer holidays this far in advance is you’ll have more chances to plan. This allows you to have a broader choice of vacation spots and could even help you to grab a room in a nicer hotel than you expected.
“This flexibility not only helps with getting the perfect trip but also means avoiding the peak-season rush and inflated prices,” says Edwards.
