You could make your own churros in the using nothing but crumpets.
We've all seen countless that involve the air fryer, from to . But did you know that you can also rustle up delicious desserts in these nifty machines? Air fryers aren't just ideal for making dinner times quick and easy; you can use them to revolutionise all your meals - including the sweet ones.
One recipe that has been going recently is air fryer churros. Recipes for this delicious dish have been shared all over social media, including by Elli Tamar, who shared a video of herself trying out the concoction on her TikTok account recently.
To make the dish, all you have to do is chop some crumpets up into small bite-sized pieces and put them into a bowl alongside some melted butter, sugar, and cinnamon. Elli did not include measurements in her video, but clarified in the comments that she used "a little bit" of each ingredient - although how much you use will largely be down to taste.
Give the ingredients a good mix to evenly distribute the sugar and cinnamon over your crumpet pieces, and simply dump them into your air fryer and cook at 180 degrees "until crispy". Elli said this "didn't take long", but didn't give a set time, so you may need to check back frequently.
Once cooked, tip the pieces out onto a plate, drizzle with a good helping of chocolate syrup or melted chocolate spread, and enjoy what Elli described as "one of the best things" she's ever made in her air fryer.
She captioned her video: "Not all viral recipes are actually good … but I'm not being hyperbolic when I say that this was one of the BEST things I've eaten and made in my air fryer. MAKE IT NOW."
Commenters on the post said they would be rushing out to buy crumpets so they could try out the recipe for themselves. Someone else also added that the recipe also works - and is potentially even tastier - with bagels instead.
One person said: "I'm not a particularly big fan of crumpets, but churros are divine, and I'm 1000% trying this!" And another added: "What an awesome idea! Thanks for sharing."
