Bruce Springsteen slams 'enormous pressures' on singers after Liam Payne's tragic death

in Buenos Aires on Wednesday. The Boss remarked: "That's not an unusual thing in my business." He acknowledged the intense pressure saying, "It's a normal thing. It's a business that puts enormous pressures on young people."

Springsteen pointed out the vulnerability of up-and-comers, noting, "Young people don't have the inner facility or the inner self yet to be able to protect themselves from a lot of the things that come with success and fame."

He discussed how they often turn to substance abuse to cope, telling : "So they get lost in a lot of the difficult and often pain-inducing (things)... whether it’s drugs or alcohol to take some of that pressure off." With candid insight from his own battles, Springsteen added that he understands the struggle "very well" thanks to his personal bouts with "different things."

Detailing his fight with depression in his memoir, 'Born To Run', he acknowledged coming "close to the abyss". Payne, who had openly talked about his path to sobriety, shared his near-death experiences due to loneliness exacerbated by constant scrutiny, particularly during a revealing discussion with Ant Middleton on the Straight Talking series, admitting, "There's times where that level of loneliness and people getting into you every day every so often... it's like, 'When will this end?'... That's almost nearly killed me a couple of times."

Meanwhile, Argentine authorities have disclosed that their ongoing investigation into Payne's death remains "inconclusive". He succumbed to multiple traumas, suffering from "internal and external haemorrhage" as revealed by a post-mortem examination. Police are said to have been called to reports of a man acting aggressively at the hotel who could be under the effect of drink or drugs. A body was found in an internal patio of the hotel. The police were called to the hotel by the hotel manager.

It's believed that Liam fell from around 13 or 14 metres and suffered "very serious injuries incompatible with life." While City ambulance service provider spokesman Alberto Crescenti said he had fallen around 40 metres and suffered "severe injuries which were incompatible with life."

Officials in the Argentine capital have said "everything indicates" the former star was alone when he died and an investigation has been launched into the tragedy.

Police retrieved Liam's phone in the immediate aftermath of his death, and the device will play a key role in understanding what happened to Liam in the moments before his death. A source close to the investigation told The Sun that the circumstances in the run-up to his fatal fall are "suspicious", and authorities are looking for a possible drug dealer who could have supplied the singer with "illegal substances".
