Arsenal star Declan Rice shares shock retirement plan after finding new role

Arsenal star Declan Rice is tempted to become a MODEL once he decides to call it a day in football.

The midfielder, still just 25, is still some way off hanging up his boots but already appears to be thinking about the next stage. Rice appeared as a model at London Fashion Week this week.

He was tasked with donning a lace-up suit, while he was also given the chance to walk the runway at the Emirates Stadium. Speaking to Sky Sports before his modelling debut, the England star said: “Yeah I can’t wait. Obviously, the first time doing it. Feeling ready. Love the fit, it suits me the best. Let’s wait and see how it goes but I’m really looking forward to it.”

And it appears that Rice enjoyed the experience so much that he has admitted that he could be tempted to swap the pitch for the catwalk more often. He added: “You know what, it was so good. Really, really enjoyed doing it. Obviously my first time in the kit, speaking to a lot of the people then, they said me and Ghetts done well.

“So listen, I’ll listen to the pros and I’ll take that. So yeah, really happy. Buzzing. Been an amazing day and great first experience.

“It might be a career after football now, I don’t know but no I enjoy these type of things. I love fashion and to be asked to be involved in this is really special so you know it was something I couldn’t turn down and then to do it now I’m here, I’m really, really happy.”

While Rice has been focused on his work on the catwalk this week, he will now turn his attention to returning to the Arsenal fold. The midfielder missed Arsenal’s North London Derby win against Tottenham due to suspension following his red card against Brighton.

But having now served his suspension, he will return in what is set to be a key week for the Gunners. Mikel Arteta ’s side kick off their Champions League campaign against Italian side Atalanta this week ahead of a showdown with former title rivals Manchester City at the weekend.

Rice is expected to be pivotal once more having been crucial to Arsenal since his big-money switch from West Ham. He has made 54 appearances in all competitions for the Gunners and scored seven goals but is yet to get off the mark for the current campaign.

His return to the fold will be a welcome relief for Gunners boss Arteta, who is still without the injured Martin Odegaard and Mikel Merino.
