Annie Kilner snubs Kyle Walker in social media return as she shares powerful parenting quote

Footballer Kyle Walker was absent from a photos shared by his wife Annie Kilner this week in a post which included a quote about shielding children from a parent's "storm".

Annie, 31, has been married to husband Kyle, 34, for two years and the couple have four children together. They are parents to sons Roman, 11, Riaan, eight, Reign, five, and five-month-old Rezon together. Kyle has also fathered children Kairo, four, and Kinara, one, with Lauryn Goodman, 33.

Following the news that Kyle had fathered a second child with Lauryn, it was announced that Annie was taking "some time away" from Kyle, though they are thought to have reconciled more recently. Annie alluded to shielding kids from issues in a parent's life this week.

She returned to Instagram on Thursday night after having not posted on her grid for more than two weeks. Annie shared a series of photos, including of her four kids, and wrote beside a blue heart emoji: "Summer 24 with my boys."

The post included a mirror selfie of Annie modelling a white top and a pair of khaki trousers. She accessorised the look with a pair of hooped earrings and sported other jewellery in the photo, including a gold watch on one of her wrists.

Other photos showed her kids, whose faces were obscured, in various locations like on a beach. Several of them appeared to have been taken on holiday, and one showed some of the family onboard a plane. There was also a photo of a birthday cake that was seemingly for Annie.

The post - which didn't include any photos of her husband Kyle - concluded with a quote about parenthood. It read: "Never let your storm get your kids wet." Annie didn't provide any commentary on the quote though.

The post has amassed more than 7,000 likes and fans took to the comments section to support Annie. One wrote: "Hope you enjoyed every minute! Lucky boys to have a mum like you." Another person said: "You deserve happiness."

A third follower reacted: "You look lovely Annie. You are a rockstar with your grace and dignity. I'm so pleased to see you enjoying the summer with your boys." Another person responded: "So dignified and a great quote to caption what a wonderful mother you are to your beautiful family."

Sasha Attwood - who's in a relationship with footballer Kyle's Manchester City teammate Jack Grealish - wrote in the comments: "Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous." Whilst reality TV star Luisa Zissman said: "Gorgeous boys & mumma."

The post comes after Annie was spotted without her wedding ring on earlier this month. Just days prior, it was reported that Kyle had moved back into the family home but that there was still "work to be done on both sides" in the marriage.

A source told the Mirror: "Kyle is delighted to be back home with his family. There is a lot of work to be done on all sides, but the boys are their priority and whilst they work on things as adults they come first. Things are looking positive after an incredibly stressful nine months but hopefully there is a brighter future ahead. Annie is tough and fiercely protective of her four boys, she will do whatever it takes to keep them shielded from the situation."

The marriage has attracted attention in recent years following Kyle having fathered two children with Lauryn. During an appearance on Celebs Go Dating, Lauryn recalled getting pregnant by Kyle for the first time when he was on a break from his now-wife Annie in 2019. Kyle later reconciled with Annie, and they got married, but Lauryn went on to give birth to her second child with the footballer last year after seeing him again.

Earlier this month, Lauryn shared a screenshot of a message that she purportedly sent to Annie in December informing her Kyle had fathered a second child with her. The news reportedly left Annie, who was pregnant at the time, devastated. It was announced in January that Annie had split from Kyle, though they are thought to have since got back together and put on a united front whilst at this year's Euros over the summer.
