Alisson Becker is from a hamstring injury but will still be without its number one goalkeeper for at least another three matches.

Head coach , giving an update in his pre-Arsenal press conference, suggested that Alisson will definitely not be back for either of the fixtures against Brighton next week with no exact timeline placed on his return yet. Liverpool travels to the south coast in the Carabao Cup before facing Fabian Hurzeler's side at Anfield in the a week tomorrow.

"He's progressing well," Slot told reporters. "Like we expected, but it is not a short-term recovery, so it is always difficult to judge. The best way to judge an injury is at the end of an injury, in that phase of the rehab.

"And he is not there yet. I can't tell you how long he will be out but don't expect him to be in against Brighton in the cup or next week."

Alisson has been injured since limping off against Crystal Palace before the international break. The Brazilian has frequently picked up muscle injuries with Caoimhin Kelleher deputizing. The Irishman was in great form in the Champions League against RB Leipzig midweek.

Liverpool.com says: Getting Alisson back before the next international break but would be a bonus really, given how he looked when he came off against Crystal Palace. Hobbling through the mixed zone, it looked like a very bad hamstring issue.

While it would be a big boost to have Alisson back between the sticks, Kelleher is a more than able deputy. He made it clear that he wants regular minutes during the summer and now he has a chance to prove that he deserves them at the highest level.
